Ever wondered how you’ll communicate when the cell towers go down and the internet goes dark? Curious about amateur (ham) radio but not sure where to start? Or maybe you’ve picked up a radio before and want to finally learn how to really use it. This hands-on, beginner-friendly Amateur Radio Workshop is built just for you.
This isn’t a boring lecture — it’s an interactive, real-world training experience designed to give you confidence using radio communications for emergencies, off-grid living, severe weather, and grid-down situations. You’ll learn what radios are best for different situations, how to power them when the grid is out, and how to get a signal when it matters most. Whether you’re a homesteader, prepper, or just serious about self-reliance, this class gives you a skill that still works when everything else fails.
What You’ll Learn:
- The different types of amateur radios and what they’re used for
- UHF & VHF radio basics — range, power, and real-world capabilities
- When to use UHF vs VHF
- HF radio basics for long-distance communication
- When HF is the right tool for the job
- Antenna types and how to deploy them in the field
- Power supply options for grid-down and off-grid use
- How to communicate during emergencies, outages, and disasters
✅ No experience required
✅ No radio license needed
✅ No equipment necessary — just show up ready to learn
We’ll also take a lunch break so everyone can grab food and recharge before we jump back into the action.
If being prepared matters to you — if being able to communicate with your family and your community during emergencies matters — this workshop is for you. Come train, learn, and walk away with a powerful new preparedness skill.
